Can the bags be reused?

They can, but the fact is the success rate is not very good. Usually they can be reused once, but that is only if the floodwaters are clean without chemicals and salt. Please note we do not market these as reusable, nor do we guarantee they can be reused.  We recommend one time usage only.

What is Greening?

Greening is a process of fertilizing and soil mantenance. Inflate and place 2-3 of our sand bags in the ground before planting a tree or plant. By doing so the tree is able to drink even during drought periods, also causing the root system to grow downward instead of floating to the surface to find water. This improves water retention and capacity and improves soil structure and increases root growth. In this way you are helping the vegetation to have a very healthy and strong root system able to withstand stronger winds, even hurricanes.
Greening is very effective in areas where drought, high wind, and clay soil are present.

Benefits include:
Saving water
Increasing plant growth
Deeper root growth and root development
Improving Yield and production etc...

The application of greening can is extensive:
Indoor plants
Flower beds and gardens
Near oceans
Urban landscapes
Environmental protection
Reforestation
Lawns
Embankment, slope, and hillside planting
Etc.

How should the bag be disposed of?

1. Soak used bag in a 5 ~10% salt (CaCl) solution, bag will shrink to original size in about 10 ~ 15 minutes and is rendered unusable.
2. Burn bag at 250C or bury under ground, bag is biodegradable and will dissolve naturally.
3. Use is at as a mulch. Throw the whole bag into a wood chipper and mix it with wood chips. (This will depend what kind of flood you have used the bags in. If the bags are full of oil and chemicals it is best to use one of the first two methods of disposal.)
